Clean Up the Billboards!

Glad to see someone is willing to take on the ugly and atrocious eye sores that are billboards. I’m just glad we aren’t quite LA yet.

A Cambridge mother is preparing to take on city bylaws to clean up signage that bares too much for children’s eyes.

Disgusted by a billboard sign on Hespeler Road near Coronation Boulevard promoting Stag Shop lingerie, resident Janine Green plans to appeal to city councillors to change bylaws to prohibit suggestive ads. “Unfortunately and shockingly, there is nothing in our bylaws that can be used for enforcement of that,” she said.

CTV Southwestern Ontario aired a news segment on the sign last week. In the ad, a man is standing behind a scantily clad woman in a suggestive position. The ad was gone the next morning. Calls to the Stag Shop went unreturned.
